The New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE), released on March 9, 2011, represents nearly two decades of collaborative work by approximately 100 scholars and theologians, including bishops, revisers, and editors. It features a newly revised translation of the entire Old Testament (including the Book of Psalms) and the 1986 edition of the New Testament.

The NABRE is a formal equivalent translation of Sacred Scripture sponsored by the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. The translation was developed using the best available manuscripts. The process began in 1994, with a group of forty revisers and a board of eight editors working on most books of the Old Testament, completing the task in 2001. The Psalter was revised by thirty revisers and six editors in 1991, followed by further revisions led by seven revisers and two editors between 2009 and 2010.
